What was once the next evolutionary step of mankind has become a curse. Random people that had no talents before are suddenly appearing at the Olympics and shattering old records. But what is causing this sudden outbreak of "Super Humans"?
Two years later, many of them have fallen deathly ill with the disease dubbed "Moira". The mysterious Joe Carol informs Black Jack that he is the only one who can save these people. At first he refuses, but Joe Carol has taken Pinoko hostage, so he is forced to agree. I don't want to ruin anything, but slowly Black Jack unravels the secret behind Joe Carol and the Moira Syndrome.
Operation One: Where's the Doctor?
When Akudo, son of the "big-shot indutsrialist" Nikura gets himself ina bad accident, Black Jack is called in. After a quick examination, Black Jack confirms that another body is needed to replace the damaged parts (that includes lungs, intestines, pretty much everything). Where will Nikura get these spare parts? Why, he will accuse an innocent bystander of killing his son, of course! With all of his connections in the "business world" a young man by the name of Davy is quickly sentenced to death. Black Jack tirelessly carries out the operation. Wait a second, would Black Jack really go along with such a hideous scandal? Nope! When "Akudo" recovers from the operation, we discover that the real Akudo is dead and Black Jack just did plastic surgery on Davy's face to make him look like Akudo! Davy is quickly reunited with his mother, exclaiming "That doctor must be an angel."
