    Dual

Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure is an English Version of Dual! Parare Run Run Monogatari. The series was created and distributed by from Pioneer LDC and AIC in Japan. It's creator, Masaki Kajishima made popular animes like Tenchi Muyo, the series consists of 13 episodes plus a special episode distributed by Pioneer LDC and made its debut in the WOWOW Channel last April 8, 1999.

    Dual

You could almost say that Dual is a parody of Evangelion, and was drawn much of its character from Tenchi Muyo and El Hazard (also an AIC project, with several creators in common). The male protagonist, Kazuki Yotsuga perhaps inspired by the character Tenchi Muyo and has a bit of Shinji Ikari's personality.

    Dual

Dual! strikes a comfortable balance of action, comedy and drama. The animation is smooth with a touch of 3D animation. There are quite a few tonal variations, the plot, is a bit of genial goofiness related to the artificial nature of the Rara War, little slices of mystery and romance and even some fairly gripping conflict, particularly as the series heats up and rockets towards a surprisingly explosive conclusion.

    Dual

Dual sports some really great intro and ending themes. The intro is a bubblegummy bit you'd expect from anime like Ranma or Tenchi. The ending song is a tune played on guitar with a solo female voice and is very pleasant to listen to, because of the two elements' lightly hypnotizing effect.

Dual is one of the best short animated series that can stand on it's own, and it truly deserves another sequel.
