    Twin Signal

    Twin Signal

Twin Signal is a hilarious manga and OVA series by Sachi Oshimizu. Currently, there are 15 volumes of manga, 3 OVAs and 10 comic novels, and drama cds. The OVAs are based on some of the funniest chapters of the first few manga volumes which are spun into a storyline that is delightfully entertaining and actually makes sense.

Twin Signal revolves around A-S Signal, the newest, most sophisticated Human Formed Robot (HFR) of the Atrandom (robot) series, created by Professor Shinnosuke Otoi, who is a brilliant robot engineer. Signal is programmed to be the Professor's grandson-Nobuhiko's "older brother," and does the impossible in order to protect him. But Signal also gets into trouble because he is made of the MIRA (Metalomorph of the Inner-Reflexive Articulation - don't know what that means, much less how that makes sense, but....do you?), a groundbreaking development in computerized robotic design, which gives him capabilities no other robot has, causing a lot of people, e.g. robot engineers, other robots, mysterious HFRs, etc., to try anything to get it.

However, there is also a small problem with the MIRA, namely that it transforms Signal from an impulsive 16 yr-old teen into a sweet 3 yr-old that can fit in the palm of your hand whenever Nobuhiko sneezes (what else?). Chibi Signal, as he is called in his SD state, is just soo *cute* and lovable. He's obsessed with eating chocolate.

Lots of bishonen robots keep popping up in the series to help Signal and company out. They happen to be the other robots in the Atrandom series that were made before Signal. One of them is Signal's older brother and prototype, Pulse, who lives with the Otoi family along with Signal after a small incident involving Pulse being reprogrammed to destroy Signal. Karma, the former mayor of the Leukyon, now resides with them as well as does Code, a robot bird also made of MIRA.

Special Thanks to: Chibi Mokona from Twin Signal for the information.
